Coins graded by PCGS are guaranteed by the California based company for their stated grade. PCGS coins are superior in comparison to other companies due to its sturdy holder design and professional service.

The grading is essentially the same as NGC as proven by many independent studies, however, the collector community has shown a preference for PCGS as reflected by many coin guide pricing. This trend can also be seen in the reverse order with some NGC coins being priced much higher due to their lower population number in their respective reports.

We tend to prefer PCGS due mainly to the holder the coin is placed in . This may sound petty but compared to NGC the holder is more sturdy, easier to store or hold and much more enjoyable to admire due to it’s clear casing. Although, NGC has changed their holder, we still are not sold in it’s design which now shows the edge of the coin.
